2 Timothy 1:6a
Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you…

Probably the most common thought or attitude that believers take today when they hear the Truth and conviction from God is that they will focus more on that truth or listen to it later. It’s with this mindset that we try to justify sin that we willfully hold onto thinking God will just forgive us and forget about all of it. The spirit of idleness is one of the greatest dangers to the Christian. David was idle for a moment in neglecting his God-given responsibility and calling and brought great sin into his life and his family’s lives. If God has placed His prompting in you, He expects you to hold fast to it. You have to make up your mind to bring yourself to hunger after God. God will not do that for you. In learning to die to God daily it’s common to learn to fight to bring your spirit in line with Christ through prayer, continue to do so, that is where the battle is. Once you win that battle whatever you face in the day will be already won.
