James 4:7-8
So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. (MSG)

It’s never too late to turn over a new leaf. God has a plan for your life and wants to use you in a while you’ll never be able to imagine. Satan will do everything he can to keep you from being effective in the Kingdom. When Satan comes with temptation and lies you need to say out loud NO! No where in Scripture does it tell us that Satan can read minds. This is why when we have something to say to him it must be done out loud. When you tell Satan to go in Jesus name he’ll scamper. You have the power to put him on the run because of the power of Christ in you! A quiet yes to God will have him come and do a good work in your life in no time. Our part is to quick dabbling in sin. We need to stay away from playing with sin, things that we know are not right. It’s time to walk as the new creation that God created us to be when we received him. Quit playing the field and get on with doing great things for the Kingdom!

Luke 7:29
And when all the people heard Him, even the tax collectors justified God, having been baptized with the baptism of John.

If you look at how God’s Word describes John the Baptizer, he’s described as the voice of one crying from the desert and preparing the way of the Lord. He was a man that was unlike anyone Israel had seen, and God granted him power to speak to the hearts of the people and give them a hunger and desire for Jesus to fill in them. Before Jesus came the people were not ready to receive Him as the Son of God. It had nothing to do with Jesus not being good enough, but the people just not ready. So God sent a messenger who shined a little bit of the light of God in their lives, and those who received that light were then made ready to receive the Light of God.

My friends, you have the Light of the World shining in your life, and His mission is to shine that light from you as bright and glorious for Him as possible. The way that He works is by giving us opportunities to be obedient to Him in our everyday lives. He may shine it through strengthening you through His Word, or through serving those who need a touch from Christ in you. However He chooses to work, He leads us through this life by shining His Light to us and as we respond to His light, He gives us more and we shine all the more for Him. My challenge to you is to be receptive to the Light.

2 Corinthians 12:9a
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for My strength is made perfect in weakness.

One of the toughest things for me to do sometimes is to rest in God’s grace and allow His strength to get me through when it just seems I am just struggling so hard and not getting anywhere. That is usually the problem when we feel like just giving up we have been struggling in our own strength instead of allowing God to take over and be our strength! Let me suggest this though, before you quit, ask Noah how it went, or ask Elijah how it went or better yet even ask Jesus how it went! Talk about facing tough things in life, they saw worse situations in their lives than we will probably ever see, well at least hopefully. God promises to be our strength when we hand everything over to Him. Trust me, it isn’t always easy because our human nature wants to be in control, but the best is yet to come as you give it up to Him and allow Him to be your strength in whatever it is you are facing today!

1 Corinthians 2:12
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us.

Have you ever seen dogs have the time of their lives playing in open fields? Now I don’t have any pets now, but seeing that energy and playfulness they have makes me want one. Dogs like to run around, explore, and just be dogs. It seems the more field and space you give them the more fun they have. Now take that same dog and chain him up for most of his life. He forgets what it’s like to be free, eventually his spirit breaks and he accepts the fact that he’s stuck. What does he do when he’s set free? Nothing. He doesn’t realize that he’s free and his heart is never revived. Brothers and sisters, Christ in us is not eternal life once we die. He made us new creature from the moment we received the Light and we are totally free from the control of sin and the lies that bind the minds of many. Most of us don’t live in that freedom because we feel trapped. Let the Spirit of God show you today that you are free. You do not need any chains to be broken because they already are.

Job 31:1
I made a solemn pact with myself never to undress a girl with my eyes. (MSG)

The other day I was talking to a student on my talk show called Xtreme Talk Live. He has had a problem with lust for a while. He asked the question, “Am I the only person that deals with this?” The answer was no! Satan loves to make us feel as those we are the only person going through a temptation or strong hold. Every guy I know has had to deal with lust at some time or another and to be perfectly honest so do many ladies. This verse just shows us that lust has been a problem since the beginning of time. Job made a pact with himself to never undress a girl with his eyes and we need to do the same thing. This is where the verse comes is that says, “Take every thought captive.” Here is a great example. Today I could come to your home and knock on your door. You more then likely will open the door to see who is knocking. At that point you have to make a decision if you want to let me in or just close the door. Temptation is very much the same way. When you get a thought you can decide if you are going to let it in or not. Temptation is not sin but allowing it in is when it becomes sin.

2 Corinthians 7:10
For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.

How can you tell if the rebuke you’re hearing is from God or the enemy? The key is found in today’s verse. Whenever God works on your heart and exposes a problem, He will always reveal Himself as the Answer. Whenever the enemy is telling you something bad about yourself and says that you have absolutely no hope, know now that it’s a lie. There are many times when we look at the lack that we see in ourselves and think that it’s hopeless because we see no way out in our own ability. Any continuing down this route leads to guilt, shame, and burnout. If you feel like you’re surrounded and hopeless, make it your prayer today that God shine His light on you and reveal Himself to you. When He does this you will know how you are to respond.

Psalm 119: 105
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

“A light unto my path”, so in dark times when everything just seems to tough and you don’t know what to do, where do you turn? Do you turn to God and the Bible? When tough times come please make all of your decisions based on the Word of God. If you stop and pray in your situation and you ask God to show you through His word and through Godly people you will find that the decisions you make will be much better decisions than if you react to your situation and base any decision on that! I have been in those tough situations when I have just gone with my “gut” or my emotions and then have regretted it, especially if it was just a quick reaction to something that deserved more time, thought and prayer. You know what it is like to try to find your way through a room where it is dark, don’t live your life in the dark without letting the Word of God guide you when it is right at your fingertips! If you read your Bible and you still don’t know what to do, ask your parents or your Youth Pastor or Pastor, someone that can help you with Godly wisdom. The blessings of God come from wholeheartedly following Him and some of those that are the best would just even be your every day peace of mind!

Proverbs 28:1
The wicked are edgy with guilt, ready to run off even when no one’s after them; Honest people are relaxed and confident, bold as lions. (MSG)

When you are not living your life for God you often feel guilty. When you are doing dishonest things you are always looking over your shoulder wondering who has got you figured out. There is not a moment’s peace when you live that life style. You have to lie to cover the lies you told last week. It’s a never ending road once you choose to live this way. The Bible is very clear that honest people are relaxed and confident. That is because they are doing the right thing and don’t have to worry about what lies might be uncovered today. Perhaps you need to repent today and ask the Lord for forgiveness for living a life that is not pleasing to him. Today begin a new road, one filled with peace.

The Heart of the Prayer

Proverbs 28:9
One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.

One’s receptiveness to Christ through His Word and prayers heard by the Father go hand in hand. What we have to understand is that God can see right through our prayers and see the reason behind why we ask or pray for the things that we do. He’s made it very clear in His Word that the reason many prayers by believers are not answered is because they are given out of lust. Lust is normally referred to as being sexual, but that is not how God’s Word defines it. Lust is having a desire that is overwhelming over anything apart from Christ. When you put it into that aspect, we’re all clearly guilty of that. The only cure for this is to turn to the Light of Christ and embrace Him. He shines His light to us through His Word and it’s our receiving of that light that changes us from the inside out. Then we are able to pray to the Father prayers that honor Him, and bring glory to His name.

Revelation 3:15-16
“I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You’re not cold, you’re not hot—far better to be either cold or hot! You’re stale. You’re stagnant. You make me want to vomit.” (MSG)

What is God finding in your life when he takes inventory? Does God find anything he likes? Does he find you lukewarm? God wants you RED HOT for Him, not luke warm. When we just sit on the fence and do nothing it makes him sick! So the question today is this? Are you making God vomit with how you choose to follow him? Are you riding the fence? Most of you know what I am talking about today and some of you are saying to yourself that lukewarm is where you are. I would really encourage you to confess being lukewarm and ask the Lord to make you RED HOT today. You can turn around the way you are living and become and force for God. Today you can begin the journey to being RED HOT again. Will you take the RED HOT challenge today?
